Who knew theft could be so easy? Today we talk about Video Game music and the many types of ‘inspirations’ composers have taken. It’s easy to call something stolen, but what actually qualifies as plagarism? That’s what we’ll be looking at today!

All of these issues wouldn't be if Music had a better copyright system, maybe akin to CC.
People are used to remix stuff and they love to do it.
0:13 my sadness😢
Smw athletic theme and witch doctor
i always thought that Keygen sounded like the Ice Cube Recovery Center prank..
No wonder my English grammar book says that Filipinos are LESS IMITATIVE THAN THE JAPANESE.
Ya seein' something in there?
4:32 Is so inspiring i am going to make a whole paragraph on it
The FF7 one made me think about the similarities between it and part of the opening of "for whom the bell tolls" by Metallica, specifically around 1:50 and further until the lyrics hit.
unreal super hero 3 makes me þink of bfdi
I'm surprised in your little history lesson, you never mentioned the Katy Perry Dark Horse Lawsuit.
The thumbnail is awesome.
The sonic 3's one….well came before katy parry's song so…. you know the drill
Here is another one, idk if it is plagiarism:
The vocals of "Dejame vivir" by Rocio Durcal and Juan Gabriel.
And
Super Mario Maker theme.
HELL,WE ONLY HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF NOTES,SO HOW COULD WE MAKE MORE SONGS WITHOUT MAKING THEM SOUND LIKE SHIT OR NOT BE ASSOCIATING ON ANOTHER SONG OR SHIT,HELL…
PLAGERISM FOR MUSIC'S SOME NEEDLESS SHIT,IT'D BE LIKE CALLING GRASS PLAGERIZERS FROM "STEALING" A COLOR FROM THE TREES OR SOME SHIT…
I got copyrighted for using the same buildup drum loop as someone else
[ * KEYGEN ]
So what we’re saying is…Toby Fox is Mozart
i think, another good example is ken's theme from street fighter, sounding similiar to a song from top gun
do a vid on stellar stone, aka the people who made big rigs which is considered to be THE lowest rated game on metacritic with a score of 8/100. aswell as the others who don't even have a single score attached to em. plsssssss
Yamamoto also did a lot of plagiarism on the OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK OF DRAGON BALL Z KAI
Ive been around this subject for awhile now. I feel the need to highlight a few songs that have many composers ripping them off so:
Deep Purple – April
Gustav Holst – The planets – Mars
J.S. Bach – Toccata and Fugue in d minor
Tangerine dream – Alchemy of the heart
Tangerine dream – Mojave plan
The Terminator (movie) – Factory Chase
Star Wars – Imperial March
Claude Debussy – Bergamasque – Passepied
There are others, but id say those are the big ones that are ripped off.
I vividly remember playing a flash game when I was little called super d where you were a little cube and you had to climb a tower. Later I was in a Pizza Hut in Arkansas and I heard the music in a claw machine game. The music was infectious, and years later I learned it was dr. Wiley’s theme and I was so shocked. What a bomb ass nes song to be used in video games everywhere.
who knew that 2008 and 2023 mixed so well together
Also this solo from Charly Garcia at 1:07, /watch?v=yoDjRWcmPdk
And "To Zanarkand" from FFX
Far Beyond the Sun, from Malmsteen, starting at 0:23
Compare that to Dwelling of Doom from Castlevania
one you missed was another song by the jetsonzs called "When the sun goes down" and the opening part of Marble hill zone
2:53 is it just me or is that don't stop believin' by journey
Hard to make new things when it feels like all the things have been made.
keygen….
NAH BRO WE HAVE THE SAME MAP
I think the concept of owning music is problematic. Music should be for everyone as musicians get inspiration from everyone else. This artificial shortage of music ownership in a capitalist system is doing more harm than good to the freedom of musical expression. There are only so many notes and chords to play that people find pleasing
Lol we're making a MOTHER/Earthbound fan game and all of the "original" music is stolen
Fairy fountain from Zelda and Mitula from shining force 2
Space Station Silicon Valley: Punch-Up Pyramid
Just listen to it.
The castle theme from Super Mario 3 pulls from the very ending of the theme from the Twilight Zone.
I wish you had covered Gusty Garden Galaxy only because I can’t remember what song it corresponds to but know I’ve heard it before
Mother 3 uses the start of the batman theme for bat enemies
funny big shot guy
what song is that at 13:33 bc i look it up and cant find it 😀
i tried looking up that version of what you wont do for love from 1967 and i cant find it? 😀 someone have it?
A song in pizza tower (I forgot the name and I'm not searching through the soundtrrack) yook inspiration from a tyler the creator song pretty blatantly. the song that tyler made was called jamba btw
Thumbnail. He's a smooth criminal
Its so upsetting about budokai because it is THE MOST DRAGON BALL dragon ball soundtrack there ever was and i still go back to listen to it from time to time
calling alot of these stealing is ridiculous theres only so many notes so theres going to be coincidences like that
of course some may be stealing but alot of them are just coincidences some of the examples barely even sound similar too
i think the drums on the OoT shop theme are identical to the drums on Do It Again by Steely Dan
Nice work, RelaxAlax! Could you make a video called "Video Games That Both Sample Songs And Sample Video Games"?
Megalovania has the same first 4 notes of Sweet Home Alabama.
